Essence Ticket to Paradise Summer Collection Review

Spotted this pre-pack in Shopper's Drug Mart earlier this week and couldn't pass up indulging in the bright fun colors, but could you blame me? I spent $11 total for all three products in this review!

Essence is available at Shopper's Drug Mart and is easily the most budget friendly makeup line, cheaper than NYC and better quality than Wet 'n Wild. The most expensive items on this display were 3.99! I currently use Essence eyeliner, and it is just as good as Rimmel Exaggerate mechanical liner, and I hazard to say even better than $15 L'Oreal Infallible liner.

The shimmer powder from this limited edition summer line is very sheer. It is even more sheer than my Physicians Formula Happy Booster Bronzer (which lately has been providing more color payoff now that it is more like loose powder than chunky hearts, weird!) but I like it. I sweep this over my matte bronzer and down onto my collarbones for a lovely hint of summer glow.

This lipgloss was the first thing to catch my eye out of everything in this collection. The red just looked good enough to eat! As you would expect from budget lipgloss, wear time is slim to none. But I do like the color, it is nowhere near as pigmented as it looks but gives a glossy shine with the faintest hint of magenta-red. This little gloss is worth spending the $2 on purely because it smells incredible and tastes just as good. Seriously, you won't be annoyed with re-applying every half hour because it tastes like candy!

This eyeshadow pot is a mermaid-esque shade of seafoam green. It claims to be long wearing so I was hoping quality would be just as good as Maybelline Color Tattoo shadows, but unfortunately it is not. This shadow ends up being a pot of turquoise glitter, it is not a pigmented cream. You might eventually get this color but that would require a very thick layer and even then it wouldn't last. The gold shade of this shadow is probably more versatile, but other than that I wouldn't spend the money on this shadow pot (even if it is just 3.99)

These products were purchased by G&G for review! xx
