Maybelline FITme Shine-Free Foundation Stick Review

New for Summer 2013 is an addition to Maybelline's FITme line of foundations, powders, concealers, blush and bronzers. The FITme Shine-Free Foundation Stick is the only product of it's kind in drugstores right now. Shine-free foundation in a convenient stick? Sign me up!

First of all I am impressed beyond belief at how well this foundation stick matches my skin tone. I have never used any of the FITme products before, but I will definitely be trying out the liquid foundation and powder after using this stick. The shade matches beautifully, it really does FITme! Lame, just so lame I know.

Using a stick of foundation is a bit hard to get used to, I mean do you literally draw all over your face with it or what? Well yes, more or less. I find the best way to use this product is to do it section by section, a little at a time or else it will eventually end up looking cakey and thick. The best word I can describe this foundation with is buildable. I found that when applying especially on my cheeks there was a fine line between just enough and too much. But when done right, the results are flawless.

Staying power may be the only downfall, but it is not bad considering. I always, always, set my liquid foundation with powder, but this velvet-y finish matte foundation doesn't need a powder set if you prefer not. It ends up oxidizing eventually and you will need a touch up, especially if you don't set with powder or a makeup setting spray, but wear time is a good 6 hours. Thankfully tossing the stick into your purse is easy and perfect for touch-ups on the go. Love!

Overall I am impressed with this foundation stick by Maybelline, just make sure to prime before applying to give it extra staying power and a good base to sit on, or set with a spray or little bit of powder on your oily areas. I absolutely love this product for summer and have been wearing it constantly. This is a new Maybelline product worth checking out!
